Think tanks present memorandum
The European Union (EU) has a number of new faces in its Commission, a European Parliament whose hand has been strengthened by the Treaty of Lisbon, and a promise by the member states to improve the coordination of European foreign policy in its various facets. With the new EU Commission in the process of constitution, the “European Think-Tanks Group” has presented a new memorandum. By Sven Grimm and Simon Maxwell
The Memorandum, entitled New Challenges, New Beginnings – Next Steps in European Development Cooperation analyses both current European policy and emerging challenges – climate change, migration, trade policy, coherence of and division of labour in development policy.
